M1.1 Adaptive Mobility
Shape-changing interior for future mobility
My first project was in the squad Adaptive Mobility, where we were challenged to design the interior of an autonomous car in 2030. We had a lot of opportunities to try creativity techniques like brainstorming, sketching, and bodystorming. We wanted to explore a shape-changing interior, so we also did a lot of material exploration, including 3D modeling. The exploratory approach we took in this project was new to me and showed me a different kind of design process where you don’t have a clearly defined goal. We made a lo-fi experiential prototype so we could do a co-creation session with multiple participants. I liked working within a team on this project as it inspired me to work with others. I also learned what role I usually take within a team and how to deal with conflict when not all the team members see eye to eye. This was a valuable lesson.
